Painting plastic

Post by Doreen Peri » May 8th, 2009, 9:31 pm

Does anybody know if I can use this product to spray paint an ugly white plastic fence? Yeah, it's plastic. I'm just wondering whether the paint will stick or whether I'll have to use something else to make it sticky before I paint it.

I don't know, Doreen. I don't see plastic listed under For Use With

Try the Plastic link over on the left of the page.

Peace,
Barry

LOL!!!.. yeah... Actually I was there already which is how I found the page 'cause I searched for "paint plastic"

Anyway I guess I screwed up and posted the wrong link... sighh... Thanks, Barry..

OK so here's the plastics link

http://www.krylon.com/products/categories/plastic/

This is a very tall fence... 7 feet high ... goes all the way down my yard between my neighbor's yard and mine... but they left.. they abandoned their house... it's going to foreclosure... I hate the white fence! I hate plastic!... on the other 3 sides of my yard, I have a wood fence.

anyway thought of painting it brown

Do you think i'll have to prepare the surface somehow? I know you said you didn't know... sigh... but maybe with the right link???

i hate that fricking fence

Yes! I read that... sounds great, right? Why don't I believe it. Do you think it would work? Do you believe it? Sounds too good to be true... I thought I'd have to prep the surface somehow.

Gonna try it!

Check it out... Even the music is great! lol

I'm going to Michael's to get some.

Every time I go there, I spend too much money. I always buy more paint and more canvases.

One day, I've decided, I'm going to be a famous painter.

I'm going to practice on the fence.

practice being a famous artist using krylon for plastic
if you don't become a famous artist
anything you paint with krylon for plastic will outlast ya'

;)

hose down the fence first... start off with a clean surface
just like a canvas but don't wash down a canvas

;)

i wouldn't buy my krylon for plastic at michaels
because i think it would be less expensive at
a place like lowes or home depot in the paint dept

sure! paint a happy sun on your once dull and unwanted fence. this will make you smile when you look at what once was a sight for sore eyes, eh? do you ever watch sunday morning on cbs with charles osgood... that show always has very cool suns (they don't burn, that's why they're cool, you see...), and you just may be inspired for a unique, one-of-a-kind dor'sun... plus a happy sunflower would be a perfect companion... you know?
