the farm
thinking it over
what i might want
what i'd like to do
maybe go rural
a little land
some chickens
not to eat
i'd let em roam around
do what chickens do
a donkey would be neat
i'd take him for long walks
one village to the next
i'd develop a rapport
get to know him
become friends
maybe he'd want me to ride him
it would be his decision though
i'd let things go
i'd let things grow
and help as best i could

Thanks for the interesting poem Constantine.
I am still trying to deconstruct it
I used to wish I had a farm too.
I wanted to rescue those elephants I worked with in the circus.
I would eat the chickens.
or the eggs anyway.
Let it go
that's the way to go
letting go
let it grow
your poems always seem to help me
amuse me
wonder me
thanks

I like the tentative voice at the beginning and the projecting voice in the middle (that animals can have the same level as freedom as we do) , and it all comes down to a wonderfully disingenuous, "I just want to help" sentiment.
Of course, I've hopelessly misread it if I'm supposed to take it as sincere.

I took a photo of a donkey last saturday (from distance!) but he suddenly started doing incredible noise (smarter than I tought!
), "hey, maybe we are bothering him, maybe he felt us as intruders in his space or something like that" I said, "no way, he´s saluting you" the owner of the place says... mmm... not sure at all!!!!

(by the way, enjoyed the reading!
