another blizzard!
this is our third blizzard this week. we just got about a foot and a half overnight, on top of the three feet that were already landed, and it's still coming down in gargantuan planet size flakes.
and i'm enduring one of the worst tortures known to human kind.... the academic essay. and there's not a drop of medicine (ahem) in the house to soothe my aye-there's-the-rub burns.

I've been reading about those blizzards passing through on the Eastside......weather seems wild this winter. I loved your iced-window pictures Glam, they were really mesmerizing.....sketches of nature....
I've never been in a blizzard before......have you been out in it?
Is the heat working or do you have a fireplace going?
Is the snow up to the windows?
what's it like?

i'm on the third floor, so the snow's not actually "up" to the windows, but i can't see out them anywhere either. heat's working fine, but i wish they were just a little more generous with it. i got cold earlier, so i climbed into bed with a movie and an electric heating pad, and that did the trick. i haven't been outside at all today, we got about 3 feet of it and it's right windy. but this is the third one this week, so i've been out in it earlier in the week. my university lost power and shut down on thursday. we trekked to a friend's place for dinner and drinks and card games, but it was hard work climbing thru all that snow, a real work out. i just stayed in for this one, trying to get some papers written, but i can't seem to focus on them. i've started directing a play, Salomé, and i can't tear my brain away from it to get back to everyday stuff. kt's on the road with friends, gone to see a one-man show up in sackville and they couldn't get all the way home, so they'er all hunkered down in a motel for the night, and they're just less than an hour outside of town! couldn't get any further in tho. we tend to use the phrase 'hunkered down' a lot here. it sort of just means stocking the house with food and booze and entertainment and then not going out until mother nature gives up the hissy fit.
