against the light

Post by Perdida » June 9th, 2009, 4:57 pm

sometimes when you sit in the shadows
when you roll your eyes

big as hills
deep as valleys
away from me

it is then
when

against the light

the language between us
deafens itself

Once again, an amazing piece.

The simplicity, the symmetry, of the piece is a strong counterpoint to the, uh, point.

Yes the deafening of a distant gaze can stifle emotion. Well done.

Excellent snapshot of something too deep to capture, and yet you did...

Excellent!

Sorry to go off topic on you, but the title made me think of a kind of opal, contra luz, which means "against the light." It's water clear, and only when the light is coming through it, when you hold it between you and the light, against the light, can you see the beautiful play of color. Most opal only shows play of color when you and the light are on the same side.

Peace,
Barry
