FARTHER'S DAY -

Post by HaroHalola » June 16th, 2009, 11:18 am

Nothing makeshift 'bout It,
this George Foreman is a patriot!
Why
what would this hallmark-day
Be
absent swirling grease, clouded
& every bun relished?
Last month
(was It?)
we calashed mutter
to
Breakfast at Anytiff's
to day
hackney the ol' man
to
the mortgage pit, where
all foil...

for Holiday Production Dissociates
- like a 1 Day celebration of The Earth -
or the Bar (the ol' man's a lawyer) Mitzvaganza
(for Bat Mitzvagirl, too!)
featuring The Tokens
(Ee-e-e-um-um-a-weh Wimoweh...)
stilly turning their style!

Who knows
where your Time goes, groping
from feu de joie...
in garrish garb & complaycent toys?,
adolts all foil down...

Bar-Bar Bar-BQ
sheep dip in the pool
Why
what would this hallmark-day
Be
absent garrulous fools?

Partly Sunday
with a grander-than-50% chance...

S'mother an' Bother
well meant, well, spent
to this we hold Sellf-evident
the inalienable right to bare arms
(for the chip)

But you
come to me, as
I went to him
&
he went to his, &
who knows...
callow-calloo
'bout somethin'...?
You got my seed of Life!
you want more,
wanted more
well there ain't.

La la, haro halolola...
enjoyed this immensely.

My father has left this earth,
but when he was here I used to send him cards
on father's day that were handmade.
They went like this:
Happy father's day
Uncle Dad!
Hope to see you someday!....

I was mean.
Indeed, Fathers day,
Mothers's day.
When we gonna have
no relation day?

h_p - I am always in eager to Read your wit & insight, & not solely regarding my Work; in this installment I hope I am pleased to have touched you in an appropriate manner, 'cause you got I' dead-on! I felt again an incumbantcy to expose the hypocrisies of produced holidays which are foisted-upon to aggrandize consumerism & commerciality. On a more (what might be more!?) personal strata, I am in accord with your insightful notion of "no relation day," which in Its essences celebrates "peopling," & sociopathy. H'H./H.e.m.

i'd prefer a
for-the-hell-of-it day
in-scribed with a thought
dripping with sincerity
clothed in humor
with a picture torn
from a 1950's magazine
yellowed with age
smelling like time
ripe for the taking
postmarked in pig latin
for-the-hell-of-it
simply
for-the-hell-of-it
a day like magic
surviving all logic
without a reason
signed
'love, for the hell of it'

(Absentis Abbas-Absentis Filius)

(that plus the title made me double-laugh!)
I used to felt orphan somehow in mother´s day in the last decade, now I feel just alien, no idea how it will keep developing!!!!

and of course I already bought the gift for my father: he used to play the clarinet when he was young, when he had to join the army-service at twenty two in Entre Ríos he sold it also all his vynils in order to have some money for the non-working period. (Well, that was what he told us..!) He never played the clarinet anymore, but he still loves clarinet music. I bought him this time a double Benny Goodman cd and a César Lerner-Marcelo Moguilevsky one, I hope he enjoy them!!!!!

Arcadia - TY, for sharing some poignant memories; though this Poem is hardly that, the objective of the Poet is to chronicle that which resonates for the Reader. I would love to learn more about your heritage, if you care to share... I hope (know) your father will appreciate & enjoy the Music he will be gifted from you - H'H./H.e.m.

P.S. - F.Y.I., Benny Goodman's original instrument was the saxophone, & THIS makes me laugh!!!

Arcadia - Was It not poignant for you to reference your father & gifts? Was It not poignant to mention your feelings surrounding Mother's Day? Yes, we all laugh (like Pagliacci)...? Prego - H'H./H.e.m.
