Post by SmileGRL » June 23rd, 2009, 5:38 pm

juSt little morsels of smashed cAke fell to the ground when she licked heR fingers cleaN. it isN't like i waNt to make a mess, she thought, buT soMe days her wings seemed imPossibly heavy & sometimes impoSsibly light. and bOth can be an obstacle depending on how you look aT it. Look! it's a fLying tea cUp & keys hanging on springs. what eLse do you see? giRls and stars and fUrry cars. she liked fuR on fur oN fur. tranSLation: soFt. like woolly sheep. remeMber? she liked saFe. but safe can be a triCk of the mind. miNd the trojan horse iNside the smile. sMiLe. doN't miNd the smile. it makes me siCk, how much she Smiles. it isN't normal. but tHen she never sAid she was normal. normal iS as normal dOes. & nObody eVer got famous by being noRmal. so let's recaP: noT an angel. fAiry. saFe. vaiN. honestly, it couLd be woRse. what she's trYing to say is, pLease doN't mind the selfish cruMbs faLLing from her liPs...

My gut reaction on first read:

It reads so fast and runs so deep

please don't mind the ramble

Normal
is that like being "well adjusted"
everybody and her sister was trying to be well adjusted back in the fifties.

thanks for the poem
sincerely

very cool! The whole read was worth it, mj... very soft & furry with psychedelic flavors scattered about like jimmies over a triple-dip ice cream cone slowly melting over the edge while that tongue catches every drip...

...everything is in a crumb.

the poem within the poem, a bum bum bum,

within the poem...oh crummy.Oh, yummy
in the tummy, little funny bunny.

a smile that slips behind the crescent moon.

...........:)...:)...:)...sideways Cheshires... : )

fur, fur, fur, fur, sir!

Tempest in a teacup, madam!

say pretty please...pass the sugar cube...

...don't want to go on no trip, now.Don't wanna(':?:')

I don't know jack spit about poetry
Even so

Between the real and the surreal
was psychic depth
and self knowledge

truckin jack....thanks for reading so deep between the real & the surreal. i like that you come back for multiple replies  and yes, "what is normal exactly?" who knows.

cecil...yeah, it can get pretty furry when the ice cream starts to melt :P (loved the poetic reply)

RR rabbit...the sum of the yummy is in the crumb  plus it's only a trip if you fly  chesire grins fly sideways and teacups hover like humming birds visiting sugar. nobody ever says please anymore...i like the trembling question mark. does that mean you're scared?

.Lucy. ...rock on girl. thanks for reading 8)
