don't live in a nest

Post by SmileGRL » July 8th, 2009, 4:54 pm

he aLways loves me
even when he caN't be my pain
even when he dares to tRy to understand

because soMe days i disappear
behind the lace curtain in my miNd
where streams flow uPside down
and screams make aBsolutely nO sound
some days i sWim in question marks
some days i rain. blinK hard. fake sane

there once was a woman
who thought she was a biRd
she build a nest around herself
iN her mind. safe & sound
even though she couldn't fly
(or maybe beCause she couldn't fly)

maybe i have a nest too
because i sometimes diSconnect
just like my dog who has a fear of tiles
she stares & aims. negotiate the liNes

wHat if the world was built with blocks
like mini nesting boxes. squAred
of couRse it would be lined with fuR
and answers would coMe
wrapped in bows

but that would be cheating, yeS?
there are many kinds of nests
i. choose. noT to live inside
a neSt. again.
it will be hard
but i will try & tRy
until i fLy

ps. for some reason i got the distinct feeling like i've used the lines "some days i sWim in question marks. some days i rain. blinK hard. fake sane" before. so i ran a search on my computer but i couldn't find it anywhere. now i'm wondering why i got such a strong feeling about that...weird...

the lines must be an accurate emotional take that feels familiar because it is. dr. dino does not charge for consultations - he does it as a courtesy. enjoyed the poem!

a crown of thorns
looks like a bird-nest
but birds don't build
their little twig homes
with rose stems

ps. for some reason i got the distinct feeling like i've used the lines "some days i sWim in question marks. some days i rain. blinK hard. fake sane" before.
I really felt a sense of comfort in those lines like they were a deja vu or something from way back when I lived in nest lined in golden leaves and small pine cones blown off the limbs of old pines that couldn't hold them anymore... but I could be mistaken. but i dug this pome in an old psychedelic reminisce from the late 1960's. you didn't write this back then, I know, mj... but had you... :)

a crown of thorns
looks like a bird-nest
but birds don't build
their little twig homes
with rose stems
both thoughtful and a touch of humor in those five lines...

yes i too, fell those lines that seemed like they were written before

they seem to call from some tree of lines...

maybe placed in a nice neat bundle in the middle.

or they fall at random like feathers from the twiddle.

the feathers from a twiddle are quite poetic as far a feathers go. but it's those twiddles that are rare in these parts, especially in the heat. apparently twiddles don't care for extreme heat. i don't either and i've never been a twiddle... in this life.

we weave our worlds so well over time,
billions of bits and pieces, so intertwined
within the mind... that secret place we have
all to our own...for better or for worse-

to un-weave that mess is the test, my dear...but,
(there's always a but)...
but knowing that it's taken all your life to arrive here now,
means it might take some time to rebuild...

there's that thing, that hint of faith, for a ray of hope...
no matter how small, mine seems to never...get smaller-

peace

maree...it seems simple is not the goal though. the name of the game is choice & free doesn't always mean easy. thank you sunshine

dr. dino  ...so very kind of you. heh. but seriously...must be. thanks for exploring.

RR...yes re. thorny nests & bundled lines balancing in braintrees. boy, there's an awful lot of definitions for twiddle. twiddle sticks, twiddle bugs, twiddle dee & twiddle dum, twiddle thumbs, cuthbert j twiddle's the four feathers, etc. etc...no birds, mind you...riddle thaT. but yes, again, a riddle indeed and how the lines appear. i much enjoyed. thank you 8)

cecil...deja vu, exactly. thank you for sharing that, now i don't feel quite so silly anymore. and no, i didn't, or did i? you crack me up, dude 8)

walt...yes, yes, yes & yes. i am un-weaving, my friend. life unravels while i unweave hanging on a ray of hope & time is a verb...
