And Now....

Post by Michael » January 27th, 2005, 1:51 pm

According to Riverbend the self-described Girl Blogger in Baghdad, they are now selling ballots for food in Iraq.

Ladies and gentlemen, you’ve seen it in Florida!! (drum roll)

You’ve seen it in Ohio!!! (double drum roll)

You’ve seen it in The Ukraine!!!! (triple drum roll)

And now (sustained drum roll)

Direct from Iraq.

A Karl Rove Production!

We bring you - - - (cymbal clash)

(Band starts playing)

Clowns appear from all sides of the tent,
those aren’t clowns.
No, no.

That one there, that’s Dick Cheney, doing cartwheels and holding his chest.

And that one, appearing with what he has, not what he would like to have had, why that’s Rummy Rumsfeld!

And can that one be Dougie Feith? Yes, it is. Surrounded by, yes, surrounded by people who are dressed in covert Israeli costumes.

The one in the dress and the funny hat, who can she be? Why that’s no she. That’s Ilyad Allawi.

The fat jolly one. That’s Ariel Sharon. What’s he doing? Oh, he has this long, bullet looking thing and he’s asking directions to Iran.

And there’s a stick lady with a wind up device sticking out of her back. Someone must have wound her up because she keeps saying, “Who could have imagined? Who could have imagined? Who could have imagined?”

And, finally, up there on the tight rope, balancing on one big ole ear, why, it’s, it’s President Bush!

What are you doing up there, Mr. President?

I’m trying to impress the men in the audience.

Why are you doing that, Mr. President?

I want to prove to everyone that I really can have a man date.

Cheney sneers at him and then we all click our heels together.

There’s no place like congress.

There’s no place like congress.

There’s no place like congress.

Then we see Senator Wayne Allard (R-CO) on the Senate floor.

He looks up and says, “You can’t do that, Mr. President. Same sex marriage is outlawed in 10 states and soon will be outlawed in the constitution”

Don’t miss it, ladies and gentlemen.

AND, BACK FOR A RETURN ENGAGEMENT (but only between a man and a woman)

(Fade out as the band plays a cacophony of “God Bless America”, “The Stars Spangled Banner” and “Das Lied Der Deutschen”.)

Hello, Arcadia.

You read this and commented. Cool!

Truth be told, and why should I want to tell anything else, I did a Google search using the words “Hitler’s national anthem”.

I actually found quite a few sites. There were lots of songs that were cited, but “Das Lied der Deutschen” seemed to have been the official national anthem of Nazi Germany. It literally translates into “The Song of the Germans”.

I guess I can’t say for sure that it was the national anthem of Nazi Germany, but my research pretty much convinced me it was.
