perspective

Post by saw » August 21st, 2009, 10:59 am

I was waiting on a corner
Oracle, Arizona
for three hours and nothing
happened

I was so disappointed
in this misnomer of a town
I threw on my backpack
headed in for some desert therapy

into the great american west
home of the spirit dancers
where everything is illusion
and reality is forced to suspend

its grip, where men speak to cacti
mesquite bush, ironwood trees
and I bump into one of them and say,
"Hey, why don't you watch where you're going!"

and one of them replies back to me
"Why don't you go, where you are looking?"
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Reminds me of something Nazz would write. Nice piece.

Peace,
Barry

I read this several times and will read it several more.
It hits a note in my gut, a melodic chord I can't describe but that I really really dig.
Nice one, good to see you again.

I was disappointed in that place too.
I remember one bumpersticker: "Work hard, annoy a liberal."
Nuff said. Dig it, Steve. I miss that arid light. Always.

yeah, you'd think something white rabbit-ish would happen on a corner in a town called "oracle" within a generous 3 hour period of time, wouldn't you...heh

cool poem, saw. and the last question...that's an important question, i think.
