life is there in the details

Post by saw » August 27th, 2009, 9:57 am

distraction is infatuating
an improvisational detour down
those reformative train rides to hell

and back on the express
steel on steel emotions the spirit rail sparking
balls of fire like the fourth of july

rigid iron fantasy squealing
yet flexible in the turns
if you don't want to snap

mule legs in concrete, brittle
dogma arms waving like a spastic
traffic cop, need them ninja heart moves

lightning quick soul deflections with your
wonder woman bracelets ricocheting
force fields of hate, confusion

your own and hers, so you demagnitize
the locked gates whose attraction
is laziness, with your x-ray eyes

use her tractor beam to stay in the game
til the fourth quarter, maybe overtime,
blow handfuls of lacuna spores

into the wind with the lungs of a minor
superhero, transcend bickering automatons
that look a lot like you, focus on the healthy details

of what really gets you high, aware that you will
need hawkeye instincts to see them when
they appear, will need twinkle toes to dance

with them all night long.
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Yes, you see, mesmerized, polarized, and/or busy, it will take our hawkeye instincts to see them when they appear, what we really need, instead of what we're told to need, or to feel "secure" with. "Transcend bickering automotons." Excellent!
