Shows up as blank for me, too.
The source code won't show you what was in the posting window because it's only the source code for the index page. To see what what was posted in the posting window, you have to click EDIT on the post.
<center> HTML center tags work fine </center>
Using these type of brackets <> instead of phpBB code which uses these type of brackets [].
I thought the only way to make a blank post was to make the text white using color tags.
That wikipedia link is a strange link because it has parentheses in it. As you see, the whole thing isn't even a link... you'd have to copy it and paste it to go the wikipedia page referenced.
All i can figure out is there's something written in the phpBB code that is incompatible with a link like that with the parentheses in it.
Just a guess. I really don't know why the post turned out blank.

Ruidoso?
My brother is headed there this weekend to play bridge.
I am happy to hear Cecil is going with you.
I like the poetry in the bible SooZen. Sounds like Shakespeare to me. I mean the KJV.
I detest some of the newer versions.
"All flesh is grass"
love that bit but it gets mangled in the modern language.
man I am wiped out
nothing but compulsive typing
happy trails amiga
I hope you have a great show.
I remember when I hardly knew you back eight or nine years ago. I was in virginia and you were going to san antone and I asked you to stop and put flowers on my mothers grave. So many dumb things I said to people on litkicks. Women especially. Annie Fae had to flame me.
I am not right SooZen. I think I am autistic. But you know by now that I am also a hypochondriac. Aspergers syndrome, I think. social skills deficits.
Doreen is good with autistics I guess. I count on her to call me out.
Dame I am sorry about my nonsensical reply about Jurassic park. For some reason your reply showed up as a blank text box. Doreen explained it to me. I thought you were being cryptic. yeah it is an interesting book, but I am not planing on finishing it. Oh wait were you talking about The Stranger? yeah it is a good read. I thought you meant The one about reading lolita in Tehran. I don't think I will finish that one. I read about half of it. But I am going to try and re-read an answer to job. by jung. Maybe.

I'll try another post.
I was watching a Hulu video and paused it because my cell phone acted up, blitzing. When I went back to play the vid, I had no sound anymore.
Anyway, long story short, I ran my virus scanner and looked in it's vault seeing there's a small Trojan, in the process of running a full scan again. It runs full scans everyday, locks anything up, but we'll see if it causes more trouble for me.

No doubt I am a hypochondriac
I don't know if I have Aspergers or not.
I just know I am not right
Prosody for example
I have a hell of a time with that.
And music I can not hear
I mean I can hear it but I am tune deaf
tone deaf also but tune deaf is something else again
One of the things that interested me about Husserl was his discription of time as a melody.
Thanks Doreen
I like your sense of humor
It reminds me of my brother the jitterbug
It was spooky SLD
Kind of gave me the willies to see that blank text box
I don't think I will do that anymore
I did once to Nazz when he blew me away
I could not think of anything to say except
Wow
or !!!
instead I tried to be clever and post a blank text box thinking of Nietzsche's comment
"great art requires no comment"
You know actually I have read very little of Nietzsche
But What I read was intense
Acid etched on my brain.
The Birth of Tragedy and The Genealogy of Morals
And I am working through the Will To Power
The book that his Nazi Sister edited to support anti-semitism.
Apparently is was never a book as such, just a collection of his notes.
We all know that bit from Thus spake Zarathrusta about carry a whip when you go to woman.
But Nietzsche wept
When Lou Salome turned him down and chose Rilke

YOu know I posted to something to a guy last week who was pissing on my leg. I thanked him for the honor and I mentioned Genealogy of Morals but I spelled it wrong. Geneology. I have not gone back to fix it.
geez my mind is wandering again oi.

Trucker a few things I'd missed commenting on, all being just first thoughts (I haven't developed them any further than their simple form).
Yes, make new friends but keep the old. One is silver and the other gold. Thanks for that and for the friendship. Another thought, I do love Jesus. He's mine and I'm keeping him. The Old Testament is hardcore, so is the New Testament except there's someone to lean on in pain. I might me an existence type, I don't know what I am. I guess that's why I keep reading up on people. I started on Freud too, not my type compared to Jung, because Jung believed in the soul, or another of us within us, although I still know little of either. I'll look for that Jung book, too.
I'm glad for our chats. I spell words from just thinking it in my head, like a conversation. I go back later to re-read I'd put 'no' instead of 'know' or vise versa. It's ok by me. I'm also smiling you'll let me be your sister. The back drop makes me think of route 1. The magician always turning new tricks, pulls more out of the sleeves than I'd ever be able to count. I'm grateful for friends. I don't like most people. Eat your oranges too, not just beer and chips or beer and tomato juice. Have a steak sometimes. I'm only saying it as advice because it works for me.
I'll add more later. I feel I'm behind.

I guess I will leave that for another time and possibly a new thread. Since this is your space, not sure if I should start my own topic or wait until you bring it up.very interested in hearing what you have to write about karma
You talk about your vanity, how you think everything is about you or something you might have done or did or said. I can relate because I think that I tend to piss folks off frequently with my outspoken ways and blatant honest assessments.
But, it is what it is and what others think, say or do is not my purview. I should just issue a blanket apology, "I am sorry if you were offended, it was not my intent..." and then I would have it covered.

Have you heard about the woman with Aspergers that works with cattle in feed lots? She gives lectures around the country now. If I had the gumption, I would google her and give you the details but I am low on fuel and energy right now and not in the mood.
I do know that she used a squeeze pen on herself (the contraption that they put cattle in to doctor them but you may know that.) She talks about her relationship with animals and lack of relationships with people. She can't "read" them. She has made a big difference in cattle that are facing death and calming their fears as they go to slaughter. Very interesting and maybe I can give you a link later...
Yeah, the bible has some interesting poetry in it but I prefer Walt Whitman. Very enlightened man, that guy. Or reading Basso or Issa or Reps. Too much drama in the bible for me, and horror stories don't interest me much. My number one son, Noah Matthew (both my sons have biblical names...isn't that a hoot?) loves the horror genre and is a movie buff and critique of them. I am off on a rabbit trail again...
The bible (and I have a collection of them around here, my grandmother's, my father's, mine from Methodist Bible School) to me is given waaaaay too much power in this world. Some folks can't make a move without it and it rules their lives. No thanks. I'll pass...
As for Jesus (Mexico loves that name), I don't doubt he existed. I think he is one of the most misunderstood guys ever. Everyone and their brother wants to translate what he said to their ends, and if you say anything ANYTHING against him or about him in any demeaning light in their eyes, they will persecute you to no end. What's that all about? Nutso. John Lennon found out about that...
It makes me think of Monty Python's Life of Brian. Crazy stuff.
I believe, if there is anything I believe in, that you or you or you can believe whatever or whomever you want. Join a cult, crawl on your knees up a mountain, poke yourself in the eye, bow down in obeisance, pray and meditate, put a tortured man on your wall, whatever...have at it. I don't want anyone telling me what to believe or whom or what to follow and I think I owe my fellow humans the same respect as I expect. Don't expect me to mince words tho... and I'll expect the same (that's karma.)

Speaking of re-fried beans, I love Mexican food, especially border Mexican which is really different than New Mexican or Austin or San Antonio. I guess because I grew up here, I think Phar Lepht has the best. It does.
Ruidoso is my home away from home. I am soooo hyped to be going there again as we rarely get away what with Nathan Daniel and the dogs.
My mother is a bridge Zen Master, she even wrote a book on bridge (actually, it is more like a bible, her students wrote the book quoting her...) I will post some of it sometime. Amazing stuff and good for just living.

Just for now I want to talk about hester's post on general about her job.
I am a little perturbed.
here in san antonio there was a scandal last year with Child Protective Services. It sounds like the culture there must be a lot like the one Hester is describing. Each case worker assigned to many cases and expected too do them too fast with little resources. So many cases of abuse not followed up and mis handled. So many children returned to abusive families, so many children dead last year.
Then when it became so blatant the news paper does a front page story on it and people become outraged. So it is investigated. Reminds me of the FAA which has been called a "tombstone agency" meaning whistle blowers are ignored until a plan crashes and people are killed.
Sorry to get off topic. I will get back to you
On the rest of your post.
thanks for the post, I am trying to get my other computer back on line the one with firefox and the spell checker Cecil recommended.
Time to eat again
Oatmeal I think
But I heard about a "beer and potato chip diet" I am thinking about trying. I got that bit from a novel I read about a reporter who worked for a tabloid newspaper and was told to find a doctor who would endorse the diet. She eventually found one.

As for that "beer and potato chip diet...ugh. I'll pass thank you. Well, unless you want some liver or cholesterol issues...

One last comment on CPS, remember the over reaction to the Mormon/Polygamy child abuse case last year? That happened after the fan hit the sh*t over how they were screwing up. It was there way of saying see we are on the job protecting the children of Texas.
