I always wanted
a Volks microbus
to drive it out into the desert
of northern arizona and
park by some rocks rocks covered
with petroglyphs & with the door wide open
sit there making bird noises
with my lips
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

I saw a guy driving an old MG yesterday, the TD model
I Waved and he waved back
He smiled I smiled
If he had been driving a Bugatti
I would have had to get out of my car and bowed down by the side of the road.

Ah yes
the infernal cumbustion engine
got to love it.

Burry my heart at the Cadilac ranch

what caught my eye was the house next door
the one with the formstone facade
god that shit spread through neigborhoods like a plague
somebody called it baltimore ugly
covering up the beautiful red brick

tis a new hombre alambre
he woke from a purple haze
stepped out onto patrick st.
into a cool fall rain
wire sculptures on his mind
r.l. burnside on his mind
third person in his cerebral cortex
beneath a walk along a wall
he was inspired that day
relieved that night
ready to grab the tigers tail
for the wild ride
swinging & swaying
old tme swelling
w/nick and nora
rin-tin-tin too
knockin' round the zoo
"in the streets"
troutzilla on the corner manana
the whole damn town an art show
talkin' 'bout fredROCK
i'm parkin' the car for 2 daze
none of that get the hell
outta my way for this wired man
me I feel like I'm becoming some kinda Kung fu t.v. Priest.....

bandeleros of harps
them nashville cats
used to wear
tootsie' orchid lounge
living on faith
hanging out at the public library
living at the mission.
jeezus wireman I know the dude loves me
but I would rather pay rent
was I was ensconced in the Ross Hotel which used to stand next to the Holy shrine of Country M usic The Ryman
once i got out of the mission I spent my nights at the honky tionks on lower broadway, maybe not your cup of tea, but man those hillbillies could rock.
never close your eyes at Tootsie's Orchid Lounge
not then, not when Tootsie was there with her hat pin like a samurai sword

blow those harps for me
i'll prentend I can hear them>>>>>>>
