there's a hole in the bottom of the sea

This is Constantine's artlog. He posted his poems in his own artlog forum for several years. He named the forum "Constantinople" and described it as "A byzantine journey through life's labyrinth."

there's a hole in the bottom of the sea

sometimes the reality of the situation
hits me like a methedrine rush
my shoulders convulse
my throat closes
the body is a freudian punster
can't swallow this
world on his shoulders
symbols within cymbals
like an oracle
it's talking to me
from omphalos to omphalos
i shake my head, my back itches
i create and carry my distractions
like a roll of lifesavers
one after another
cherry, lemon, orange, lime...
and back again
back to the beginning
an assortment of candy covered holes
that i suck on
that i whistle through
like a bone
when the marrow's gone

thanks dino

I think I got it
but my words are not adequate
to express how it resonated with me
it just did.

The situation this past week has been one long reality check for me

Lew Welch Ring of Bone came into mind when I read it,
But I don't think that had anything to do with your poem

I am sure I miss so much of your poetry, the rythm of the words
I skim my images and meaning off the top and miss the structure
All I know is I was dealing with madness all week
Started with AT&T and the reality of my powerlessness in the face of their power over my life.
Then scene shifted and it became the madness of my own family
my sister myself and my nephew.

You have such a way dino
To say what is unsayable to me

It gets so grim sometimes
I try to do everything I can to encourage you to keep on keeping on for my own selfish reasons.

The title
I think you are a fucking genius man

Oh! it reminded me of my magician.
He wanted lifesavers too.
I miss him and this helped.

Thanks for sharing it.

And Jack...you know.
`Do you know, I was so angry, Kitty,' Alice went on...`when I saw all the mischief you had been doing, I was very nearly opening the window, and putting you out into the snow! And you'd have deserved it, you
little mischievous darling!
