flew through the windshield of his friend's car
the other day, that oak tree stopped them

pouring my espresso three days later
then two weeks ago he flipped his mother's van
on the roof, smashed a vintage stereo console

he was hauling to storage for safe keeping, and
oh yeah, his head again, unconscious twice
in one month, it makes we wonder about curses
since i know his ex-girlfriend hates his guts
