Congratulations mister pvvesident

Post by mudshark » December 10th, 2009, 11:44 am

Barak Obama just recived the peace price here in Norway. just met up with our King ( I know, it's medival to have a king) and held a spectacular speach at the Town Hall.
in a coupla hours he will wave at the people from the Grand Hotel.
the people will consist of two groups. One is there to cheer, one to protest.
I belive the sorry asses protesting will be few and soon forgotten.

Tomorrow hes off to a much more important task.
Kopenhagen, Denmark.

these are the dry facts.
what we really wanna know is if he stops by the cafeteria to have a cop of coffe. like Clinton did.

good to hear his speech was a success in the EU and beyond. I caught most of it (it was early here) and even our news media actually did not disparage the speech (one channel anyway). I personally thought his speech to be wonderful and meaningful.

hope you share some coffee with the Pres!

I read a sort of abstract in MSN latino page (maybe not at all the most adecuate place.. I´ll try to read more later). Curious...each day I can understand Obama more and at the same time agree with him less!

Bingo, V. Glad I'm not the only one having that backwards seeming notion. I say that without rancor and I wish him well but he is just a man after all and subject to the same things that bedevil all men everywhere.
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

I was a bit nervous about the ballcony-thing, wre he would greet the people.
the protesters never made it anywhere near the crowd of ten tousands cheering him. and the wife.

Torches flaming up the night in a ocean of light.

come to think of it. hes speach earlier today, did have a flinging odeur of conservatism. and I do belive he was talking to the american people the hole time.

really special. started the speach by saying " we will never have peace in our lifetime"... further on: " war itself is never glorious. war itself is at some level an expression of human failure. war is sometimes necceserry.
almost appoligising receiving the prize.

never seen anyone do that.

the difficult choises he had to make as a pvvesident.
He stod there as a representative for the American army.
weird.
but the retorical part of it was totally mindblowing.
to me that is important.
I've been waiting for someone like that.

it's a lot of love in mindblowingness-

His speech opened more doors and closed none from what I heard.

yeah, he's a good orator, for sure. he's no peace prize winner though. not from where I sit. will it all make more sense with the passage of time? maybe.

in my humble opinion, peace prizes should not be given to persons of power who escalate foreign wars based primarily on imperial/economic interests (despite the noble rhetoric).

then again, if we crush the Taliban and prop up that bastard Karzai in Afghanistan, no harm no foul, I guess.

okay, I apologize. I'm acting like a jerk here, I guess. perhaps my sour protest isn't going to help anything. I think he's a good man, but I'm beginning to suspect he lacks spine to stand up against the mega-corporate machine on our behalf. then again, he is only one man, and he sure as hell wasn't given much to work with. so I should probably "stand down" now and quiet my protest. I wish him well. Us (we) too.
