These characters always seem to fail at the truth that there is two sides to every scenario and normally they will choose the more negative side to sell their hypotheses.

Sure, that's my own negative opinion. ;)

true Cecil, but I think that is just a function of our neurology. But you knew that. It is a trick of the mind.
"The human brain not only can hold two contradictory ideas at the same time but insists on it." Ambrose Bierce
I spend my lonely days thinking about women and children mainly. I read something about a book called The Inevitability of Patriarchy. I think that is what makes wars inevitable. White Bird sings had a GO about "Medusa must be reclaimed"

In the beginning god was made in a woman's image but she got bored and made men from some toe nail clippings. And it has been our task to keep her amused ever since.

The Throwing Madonna is an interesting book from what little I have read and understood.
<center>"Dux femina facti" </center><center> [A woman was the leader of the enterprise.]— VIRGIL, The Aeneid</center>

Whenever a man stands up and proclaims himself as something special, unequaled in the world, we naturally become a little wary. Yet humankind as a whole has long been doing exactly that, proclaiming ourselves as special creatures for a long list of reasons. There have, of course, been some rude setbacks to our self-esteem. The sun turned out not to revolve around us after all, but we got used to that. And then Darwin explained how one animal species evolves into a new type of animal--and did it so convincingly that many educated people have put aside their seemingly natural notions that humans were specially created in a manner quite unlike ordinary animals. There is something built into our brains which makes us curious about our origins. We make up stories and try them out for size. We (at least in science) eventually discard most of those stories in favor of other ones that fit the facts better.

In the beginning god was made in a woman's image but she got bored and made men from some toe nail clippings. And it has been our task to keep her amused ever since.

our son in Austin (Noah) told his mom years back that his job was to keep his wife amused. Not sure if he learned that from me or agreed with some others or not.

I haven't done any but cursory readings on the bobono chimps and the strongly matriarchal society they have formed, where sex is freely used as a "peace keeping" tactic, but this society may very well be more advanced than other primates (depending upon who one believes, of course! ;))

Oatmeal for breakfast.
a good start for the day
and a reply from you
also a good start to my day

The book The Inevitability of Patriarchy claims to dispell the myth of primitive societies being matriarchal.

most life is matriarchal... man appeasing woman the best he can...

the old saying: "When mama ain't happy, nobody is happy."Sure, not every woman runs the show, but when it comes to the kids and the home it's pretty much a woman's show.

I think the stats (in the U.S. anyway) show that women control most of the dinero... in charge of the home finances, do most of the shopping, etc.

Plus men who live without women most often die at an earlier age than the men who do live with women. Seems true that we can't live with them and we can't live without them. Note the women in the place you live in... aren't most of them widows? My own mother lived around 38 years longer than my dad.

It's been my observation that men who try to keep women down, oftentimes end up living without a woman... the woman isn't going to put up with their attitude...

but this Tiger Woods scandal... why have something like 14-15 women come forward admitting to an affair or having sex with Tiger knowing who he is and knowing he is married with a kid? Tiger is getting all the blame here with none of the women involved getting anything except to vent... not sure if that is any where close to equality, eh?

women
are exhausting
and worth it if you wanna keep your mind off dying, or hunger, or cold.
men,
we're exhausted
trying to let yas know we don't wanna die yet, or go hungry, and stay cold.
`Do you know, I was so angry, Kitty,' Alice went on...`when I saw all the mischief you had been doing, I was very nearly opening the window, and putting you out into the snow! And you'd have deserved it, you
little mischievous darling!

38% agreed with "Man has developed over millions of years from less advanced forms of life, but God guided this process, including man's creation."
from that jumping mad donna

my wife gets jumping mad at times
and she does insist on a certain standard
in her house
with much patience and then
shit starts happening

actually muhammed did initially envisage an egalitarian society
and there were strong women inititally during the formative survival of Islam
and the Koran does place man and woman as equals in the garden
both taking from the Tree of Life, which is what we celebrate, as well as have temptations

those ladies on the loose were not familial women..../
being in partnership with a woman is both difficult and a blessing.

There is something inside me that won't let me lose my wife, i swear,
as tenacious as life itself.

and if i do, i will have hell to pay.

i love to talk about things i know nothing about,
i wish my wife did.

I been avoiding the tiger woods thing Cecil, he don't owe me anything. not like those got dam preachers and politcians preaching family values and cheating on their wives. As far as keeping women down and winding up without one I suppose that is why the Pope don't got no woman.

pretty funny video kind of nerdy but funny the last bit about athletes and bimbos is pretty good I thought. Not sure if you can watch videos on your computer.
I maxed out my ram to 2 gigs making a big difference on performance.

sorry jimbo
Madonna doesn't owe me anything either
During a recent "who cares if he had an affair" discussion I brought up John Ensign. A number of my friends had never heard of him, never heard about these alleged payoffs using federal taxpayer money, never heard of the possible ethics violations. Ensign is counting on that ignorance: two days ago Ensign said despite the continuing and growing allegations he will never resign, because he "wants to defeat Harry Reid."

The only similarity I see between these two stories is the basic one: two public men cheated on their wives and were found out. But that's where the similarity ends. One involves mounting evidence suggesting a U.S. Senator used federal tax dollars -- that's your money and mine, folks -- to pay off his girlfriend, hurt the people he represents by weakening his influence and standing as their Senator, and may be hurting them more in days to come. And it will all just coast more tax-payer's dollars if and when he's charged with allegations of wrongdoing. Compare that to Tiger's story. So far evidence suggests Woods hasn't hurt anyone but himself and his family; what he's done may be immoral but as far as I know it's not illegal (unlike Michael Vick). And Tiger Woods holds no position of authority and wasn't elected to any office. Maybe, like Ensign, he's paying off a girlfriend. I don't know that, but I do know that if he is then those funds are coming from Tiger's private mountain of cash and not from my pocket. You could argue that Tiger may indeed be using some of my money, since I bought stuff with his name on it and spent money to see him play. But I have to pay taxes. I don't have to go to the U.S. Open.

These two stories should get coverage equal to the weight of their transgressions. John Ensign should be a big story on CNN. Tiger Woods should be a big story on The Golf Channel. When the next Powerful Man is a Scumbag story breaks (and you know there will be another), is it too much to hope that media coverage will be based on whether it matters or whether it doesn't?

Based on what I'm seeing now, I'm not very optimistic.

Why John Ensign Matters and Tiger Woods Doesn't

CNN's Rick Sanchez just grilled Sen. John Ensign (R-NV) about Ensign's affair with the wife of an aide and his ham-fisted efforts to cover things up.

Ensign came on prepared to keep politicizing the failed terror attacks by using them to attack President Obama. But Sanchez quickly turned the tables by bringing up Ensign's personal woes, leaving the senator visibly surprised.

Fox's Hume slammed for telling Tiger to convert

He's said to be a Buddhist. I don't think that faith offers the kind of forgiveness and redemption that is offered by the Christian faith. So my message to Tiger would be, "Tiger, turn to the Christian faith and you can make a total recovery and be a great example to the world."

Interesting articles you've posted, JT... enough to piss me off. No, not you posting these pisses me off.... quite the contrare... R-NS, Sen. Ensign pisses me off and 'Faux News' Hume pisses me off. It's difficult to me to swallow anyone would cover these people's proverbial asses. And yet, if the stats are accurate, Fox has a larger audience than the other Big 3. I just do not understand, truly.

I don't know either. We can't get enough of the latest celebrity scandal. Yet guys like Ensign and Vitters just keep on creeping on making speeches about family values.

Kind of disgusting.

. He developed an illogical fascination with logic. Math, grammar, logic - the systems civilization has developed to make sense of the world became the means through which he expressed the confusion and pain in his increasingly lost mind.
