Very spacey that last picture and yet, it reminds me of the aborigines. Like a painting on a rock but don't ask me why. I am not knowing.

I like coming here although my visits are sporadic. Little insights, lovely pictures, nature glimpses (i pictured those drowned mice but at least the birds will have a snack) and a style of writing Mr. Mingo that I envy (I admit.)

The storms have blown thru here for now and the warmth has returned. The last leaves on the deciduous are stubbornly hanging on, yellowed and dry. Fearing the rakes among us, I guess...

HI sooZen !! Glad to see ya! Did ya get your 'puter fixed ? Thx for the compliments and I'm glad you enjoy coming here. I hope you always do enjoy visiting here. To tell ya the truth some of the things I post here I wish I hadn't. Sometimes I get in these "rasty" moods and I should just stay clear of the keyboard when that occurs. When you come across a post that's full of broken glass & rusty pipes & bent rims & old teeth just know that the mingo has probably been run over and become tangled up in general stupidity and has got up and gone on the warpath for somewhat less than righteous reasons. I think sometimes that I will achieve the rank of Magnificent Old Man one of these grand days and will be totally horrified at the depths I have navigated. You are very gracious to have spoken so. I appreciate it, sooZen, I needed to hear that very thing.

1.4 degrees above ZERO when I awoke before dawn this morning. Been like that for three days now. Sun's out today. may get all the way to 25 degrees or so. I'd beat on my drum but the elkhide might shatter if I did. I think I might have some oatmeal.

Damn! Just discovered the painting I posted this morning I had posted before. Can't even keep track of my own space. I don't stand to the chance of being buried with my boots on if I keep this up. Now I'm down to it I have to say it - "OOPS!" So I'll try this again ...

oh yes...love the painting!

And yes too to getting the 'puter fixed. Only after it's many trips back to the fix-it guy. I think he finally got it right. Anyway, it's working.

As to those "rasty" moods that happen occasionally. I know what you mean as I too write in my journal every day and have those moods myself. But writing when I am in those moods helps me to dispel them so they don't fester and burst into something more concrete than words on the page. So write away my friend. I think it is good therapy (at least it has been for me) and have no regrets.

I like that nomer "Magnificent Old Man" also.

I don't know about "rasty" but I enjoy every dadgummed(sp?) post you make! Treats for the mind, treats for the eyes. And that last one is heavenly gorgeous! I kid you not!

And I see your picture of you too! So nice to see you mingo, to put a face to your who. :D It's funny how one gets a notion of what one thinks one might look like and how completely wrong it can be. Pleased to see you.

Don't like that bit about you hatin' meeses to pieces though! *glare* But yes I must grudgingly agree. I can't kill meese but I have been a party to their demise... I don't like their shady little selves scuttling around in my house.

But if I ever come to visit please don't stomp on me!
I used to walk with my head in the clouds but I kept getting struck by lightning!
Now my head twitches and I drool alot. Anonymouse

I won't stomp on you. Promise. Glad to see you here. What ya been up to? What's been done? What endures? Missed ya the last time you were 'round. And thank you.

As a boy among the tribe of kids living up and down the road any time we were out in the woods or fields or on lakeshore and someone would see a plant, flower, or tree unknown to them and say, "O wow look at this! What is it?" and nobody among the road buddies knew what it was, it was always decided to be a snakeberry plant, a snakeberry flower, a snakeberry tree. Confronted by the mysteries of the unknown out of our collective being we faced it and named it first thing. We had to act first in the eternal realm to be able to act then in the physical world. Only after naming could the unknown, the new, the surprising, be approached and touched and handled and perhaps picked to take back home to share our surprise with those we loved. Kids are natural scouts for those they love with a heavy tendency to share with those they love what has delighted them so that love will make them one in experience. Those tribes & those kids are long gone and ain't coming back but Man and his children remain their entire lives with the power to name.

Snakeberry.

Last week Nancy was in on the couch and I was out in the kitchen. Of a sudden something hit the large window on the side of the lodge. Caused the whole place to give off with the sound of it for a moment. Nancy in anxiety and fear said "O MY GOD WHAT WAS THAT !?"
"An unborrowed pit bull" I answered without hesitation but not knowing why. I then went outside to discover it was a dove coming from the feeder that had flown head on into the window. He had just stunned himself and was alright.

The unborrowed pit bull. I was finishing the dishes and it kept goin' 'round in my head. The unborrowed pit bull the unborrowed pit bull. An odd collection of word. I couldn't put my finger on it and was just about to dismiss it when Nancy asked me, "By the way, what the hell is an unborrowed pit bull?" Then I remembered it all. I remembered from where and the why. And I fired up the 'puter and sat down and wrote this to you all.

hanging glad with poetry
blasting considerations
unpure with thoughtfully shaved breasts
straight hobo innovators of virile ideas
shooting milk & honey into the mother alleys
as the visions of phantasms stayed put
vigorous and spitting and
types not disappointed with the claim of home

as the continuum moved into sight

and the fuck stretched out and paraded with
the rest of America
