My lunch with an author

Post by hester_prynne » December 7th, 2009, 10:04 pm

I had lunch with Nazz yesterday and was also privy to buying a copy of his just out book and having him sign it.
FOLKS, THIS BOOK IS STUNNING. I am 45 pages in and totally uncertain at this point if this book can remain what I call a "bus book", because I want to read it in between. I'm impressed, jealous and absolutely thrilled w/ this book.
Doreen your production of this book is stellar. It is tasteful, and impeccable. It's just absolutely high quality in textile and in layout, edit, and presentation. It holds Nazz's prose perfectly. I am honored and thrilled to have this book.
Thank you Nazz...(Mark) and Doreen for this treasure.
I am so stoked about this.

Great initial commentary, T... and one I'm sure he appreciates muchly.

Oh YAY! Glad you got one! It really is a great collection of essays.

Mark is a really fine writer. I was honored to help him by formatting it. It only took me a year. sighh.... i feel really bad about that ... BUT .. finally... it's done and I'm happy to own a copy, too! Thanks for your kind words about the design & production.

That's great you had lunch with him, Theda!

Congrats to Mark!

Hest! It was great to see you again, hang out in the big city! You always help me see "the bigger picture." Thanks again for lunch, I really appreciate it. Hope you enjoy the book-- a labor of love, or more to the point, wandering chronicle. I have no clue how to write a book, except to just write. Doreen did a fantastic design job. Good taste, good eye. And I appreciate the effort. Means a lot to me that our five+ years together, these creative wanderers who landed here, have been inspired by each other to keep on creating... Cec, I'm just now getting your copy in the mail... been footdraggin' a little. Sorry.. Thanks much-ly, Arcadia, judih and Jack. Inspiring words. I ordered another copy of Infinite Tide yesterday, since I gave mine away as a gift. In fact there are quite a few books I've missed out on from my circles of cyber-poet drifters. Should probably check a few of them out.

This book is so F'ing good! I am savoring the last few pages...., it's an intoxicating, eloquent, refreshingly warm, sometimes really hot, guide through the desert!
Naz your writing is alive with a humaness I really connected with.
Excitement, oddities, Utah, Las Vegas!!!!!!
Really really a damn damn good read. Congrats.

Thanks Hest, Soozen and mousey! I'm so glad you enjoyed the book, Hest! More copies are only now getting sent out to various friends (and we're into all the holiday stuff too). I'm one of the world's leading procrastinators! I'm really good at it! Actually did a "reading" last night at the home of a good friend of mine. And yes.... still writing.... turned into some kinda compulsion recently...

I think it was money well spent judging from the first couple of pages I have read.
