Ten acres

I was on a hillside above the ocean
the moon was full
firecrackers are going off in various directions
as the reflections are cast upon the ocean. Love looks different now
from a distance
I watched the events of my life like a movie
in slow motion
I had left when it was too painful
but my body was still there
going thru the motions
pretending it was ok
I stopped
I know love
what it looks like, feels like...
I am safe now
I forgot once! Not for long
like a spider bite
it s venom has a way of reminding us
how powerful the small creatures are
weaving strands of silk into the sweetness of my heart
healing what was broken
I was here on the hillside on ten acres welcoming the new year!

I love it. funny how the smallest moments are sometimes the biggest indelible memories. hard to explain.
