I had only but to name Him.

Post by izeveryboyin » January 31st, 2010, 1:29 am

I spoke his name quietly,
So that no one would hear me speak it
Or if they did,
Think it were but the whisper of the winds,
Like his words, breathing softly against my neck
And
Bringing me to my knees,
And
Making me see stars,
And
Giving me new thoughts and ideas...
nuances, states of being...
fits, and dizzy spells.
In my weaker moments,
I would sigh and sing poetry to you quietly.
Pretending you were but Heathcliff to my Catherine
Haunting me with your poetic prose that all at once brought my heart with love to it's knees and broke it in two.
Remember the gardens we promised to grow?
The promised sowed upon barren fields of forbidden fruit
I can only hope to grow oranges in a field full of bushes and thorns,
To hang your words on the chandelier in the foyer of my mind
That was what I would tell you.
Impassioned
Emblazoned.
I FELT you.
The way a woman should never have to feel a man who was never in her reach.
I wanted to let you teach me.
With your hands.
With your mouth.
With your sigh upon my breast
Your chin upon my chest
I was filled with unfair, undue, untied unrest.
I remember when once I thought there could be an us.
And so I spoke your name quietly.
So that no one would hear me speak it
And that when you were gone from me...
You would seem a ghost.
A Catherine to my Heathcliff.
Haunting me with your poetic prose.
And breaking my heart in two.
Do you remember?
Don't you remember?
Us.
sometimes I just like to breathe.
