Up here in the great white north we have a long history with the jesuit order. They came here with the first french explorers and live amongst our first nations peoples. Some of their stories, like Jean de Breboeuf are well documented. The Hurons burned him at the stake for bringing european disease to their people and almost wiping them out. We alsoo had a Jesuit Prime Minister, one of my favourites Pierre Trudeau.

The Jesuits have a long and respected history. I am not part of it in any way which would have even the smallest or most trite contribution other than being in the distant shadows of it's own peculiar culture for my informative teen years, 14 thru 18, when my sexual puberty overwhelmed religion. After those years of learning I no longer attended Catholic church or any church... living on the distant edge of religion only as a security rope to hang on to whenever doubt scared the hell out of me.
