whats this superbowl. you all not watching. is this, you know
I been watchin' the Superbowl for the commercials since I was a kid. They're some of the best (or worst, if that's your take) commercials you'll ever see, movie-size budgets and crews working on 'em all year long.
Remember the 1984 Apple commercial where a young woman comes running into the dim auditorioum where sit grey-clothed and dark-glassesed monk-like figures listening to a similarly garbed dude intone at them from a giant screen, and she runs down the aisle swinging a full-sized sledge hammer, lets it go and shatters the screen, much to the jubilation of the assembled masses? That was a Superbowl commercial. And it (or the product it advertised) changed the world as we know it.
The game? Yeah, it's just a game. Though a Saints win could do for the people of New Orleans what the gov't didn't even try and thus failed to do: revitalize them.
