bad poem no 2

[achilles]

takes too long to get to this screen
very frustrating
feel like crap this morning
or early afternoon
student at four
haven't canceled yet
a 61 year old would be playwright
retired postal worker
a good man though
works hard on his plays
bought a house down here after being
no the treadmill all those years
got married for the first time ten years
ago
a good life
and he knows it
appreciates it
down in the basement he has his haven
books and movies
tv computer
a good life
he's earned it
so i teach him how to write plays
even produced a staged reading of one
a few years back
the cast was my at the time beautiful sicilian
girlfriend and me
the play was pretty bad
and worse my student directed it
stood over us like a hawk
i humored him
what the hell
vowed to myself i'd never do another play
for him
but changed my mind
what the hell
he works so hard
and our stage is to help people
he needs the help
and so do i
