Do you fear Obama?

Post by mtmynd » March 30th, 2010, 3:49 pm

Here's the latest Harris poll regarding Republican opinion of Pres.Obama -

Difficult for me to believe how ill-informed the Republican's really are. And they expect to have a partisan relationship with Democrats..?

Well Cecil if you are asking me personally I would have to say hell yes I fear him. I fear his wife even more. But then all women scare the bejeezus out of me.

But I guess I fear for him more than I fear him.

Are any of these things on the Poll what you fear about the man?

Why fear Michelle? What did she do to you?

[i'll stop at 3. :)]

Again, I say ... it's time for two countries... (have said it several times lately because the whole Tea Party thing, etc. just blows me away with the reality that there are many more ignorant and stupid people in this country than I had ever imagined).

Not only ignorant and stupid, but dangerously so.

I really don't care to be associated with them any more. I think we should create the two countries and do it fast!

How to divide it up is going to be a bit of a difficult problem, though. I was going to suggest that we could have the east and west coasts and Hawaii and they could have the center of the country and Alaska. But.... both mtmynd and stilltrucking live in Texas so... as you can see, the dividing up would be tough! I sure wouldn't want you guys to be stuck living with "them".

Dor' - "Again, I say ... it's time for two countries... (have said it several times lately because the whole Tea Party thing, etc. just blows me away with the reality that there are many more ignorant and stupid people in this country than I had ever imagined)."

I've given that some thought, myself. It seems back when Obama was running for President some facts came out that showed how some stats regarding the states that received more government monies versus what the government collected in taxes - I do remember Alaska was the number 1 receiver of government money and had been for several years running (DC may have been up there somewhere, but it's state-less). And whoever uncovered those facts went on to show that the majority (maybe all?) the Reds got more government money than they paid in taxes, i.e. welfare states.

How about if we split the country in Blue and Red, where the Reds can be the Republican/Conservatives (Redpublicans) and the Blue will be the Democrats? ;)

But seriously, this divide is amazing to me! I cannot believe that half (57%) of the Republicans actually think Obama is Muslim or almost half believe he wasn't born in the U.S.? WTF??? How downright stupid is that?

You have given thought to two countries?

Jessus h christ.

And I thought I thought too much

I think Vonnegut had a good idea in Slaughter House Five,

The USA should be Balkanized.

I think about the politics in the Wiemar Republic a lot.
And what is slouching towards Washington DC
One regret about Obama is his choice for Secretary of Treasury. Geithner, the same old crowd is hanging out again.
Meanwhile Chris Dodd is as dirty as his father and pushing for financial reform. One can only hope that no one is more virtuous than a reformed whore.
It is going to be about jobs and economic growth. God knows we need more economic growth. More jobs. Tea party people got too much time on their hands. Idle minds do the devils work.

I am thinking
got my thinking cap on
thinking I need a drink

Seems like a joke to me that anyone can take the republicans seriously, but there they are. Well at least they are not racists, they got that clown Steele as head of the RNC.

Yeah we should split the country in two. The worst thing that happened to us was winning the last civil war. We would have been better off without Lincoln. In fact we should have lost the revolutionary war too. We never should have split off from Canada.

Sorry again Cecil I don't really give it much thought. What scares me is man's infinite capacity for stupidity. All I have to fear is myself.

Done editing I hope

I'm really curious...

Even if he were a Muslim, the US has freedom of religion so what difference would that make? There's nothing in the Constitution that says the President must be a believer in any particular faith. Still, we all know his beliefs are with the Christian faith. Just sayin'... though... it shouldn't matter.

BUT...

What exactly do they think he's doing that's unconstitutional? Obviously Bush did unconstitutional things.. why weren't they complaining then? Bush even called the Constitution "just a piece of paper." But what do they think Obama is doing that's unconstitutional?

They're really stupid if they they think he wasn't born in the United States because in order to be President, he HAS to be a "natural born citizen" so that baffles me why they think that. Why do they think that, I wonder?

What are the are the things they think he's doing that are like the things that Hitler did? I'd really like to understand this.

Why do they think he's a domestic enemy? I wonder why.

And what do they base their thoughts on when they say they think he wants the terrorists to win? Whatever did he do to give them that idea?

Last of all... the Antichrist statement just blows me away. I can't even fathom why they'd think a thing like that. That's just a crazy statement! And 24% of them think this? Unbelievable!

If any of you know the answers to the above questions, let me know. I seriously want to know why they think along these lines. I mean, it's just mind blowing that there are sooooo many people thinking such really ridiculous crazy thoughts!

Scary, no?

JT: Yeah we should split the country in two. The worst thing that happened to us was winning the last civil war. We would have been better off without Lincoln. In fact we should have lost the revolutionary war too. We never should have split off from Canada.

You're a funny man, JT, and I mean that in a good way...

JT: Yes nothing scary about the Christian faith is there?

There you go again...

But thinking about splitting the country is not too far off from knowing we're a divided country, which is where we are, aren't we? Right Wing vs Left Wing, Conservatives vs Progressives, Whites vs Multi-cultural, Apple Pie vs Tiramisu, Lamborghini vs Corvette, Evolution vs Creationism... too much for the conservative faction to deal with... they're confused and don't get it.

That guy is a metaphor for the Republican party for me. Hey he is a black man right? "All spades are groovy" Firesign theatre

Interesting BBC documentary called The Power of Nightmare
About the politics of Fear.

In the Meantime in Texas the republican controlled State Board of Education has removed Thomas Jefferson from the history text books.

Obama the best thing to happen to us in many election cycles.

Wiemar was so polarized between the communists and socialists. that the N*zis could drive a truck right through the middle class.

I am trying to keep the faith
I am sure it will work out

The Power of Nightmares, subtitled The Rise of the Politics of Fear, is a BBC documentary film series, written and produced by Adam Curtis. Its three one-hour parts consist mostly of a montage of archive footage with Curtis's narration. The series was first broadcast in the United Kingdom in late 2004 and has subsequently been broadcast in multiple countries and shown in several film festivals, including the 2005 Cannes Film Festival.

Divide and conquer. It's worked throughout history.

Just wondering who's in charge of the dividing and who's planning on conquering and taking over.
