In Mid-April,
as the sun lays to rest the rainy, tropical morning,
I sat on the old wooden banister
overlooking the lively parking lot.
Sitting on last month's layer of pollen
and today's polluted rain,
the wind threatened my balance.
This wind,
created by decades of lies,
closed eyes,
missing goodbyes,
and why-
did we let it get so far?
I see kids glistened with sweat,
smiling.
I can't seem to think of what road we laid down for them.
With the whole world breaking
out of sight, out of mind.
Hands and shoulders closing up,
going deep into their pockets.
Our roots have crumbled away beneath the surface-
and this wind,
cold and penetrating,
Has knocked me off my banister.
And as I fall I reach for love,
I scream for love!
And I hear, "Fall! Fall!"
"We'll catch you!"
And all I see are the crooked smiles of the old generations.
But as the last chance of forgiveness envelops me,
those sweaty, smiling kids catch me.

our voices will be heard,
because we are brave enough to sing
and legends' past will be

intriguing piece, our civilization tested by the thievery of monsters, that still want our trust ( and our taxes )......they fail, we bail
our moorings are tearing apart in the storm and all seems hopeless,
but
we hear a kid giggle, gaze at their unbridled smile, and instinctively know we must keep at it.........enjoyed this bluez

Thanks, saw. Glad you enjoyed it.
It's like a vicious cycle, yet the only things that "recycle" are the selfish and bad ideas/choices. Lives in the hands of people no more or less important than the typical civilian. But we certainly don't have our children prepared for when their generation becomes influential. If they even make it to that point.
All we can do is keep living and keep helping the future generations as best as we can.

yes as best we can, we don't have the money, but we do have the numbers....for some it is too late, it's just to unsettling to change the concepts of what brought them to this point in time...ie the stock market
but the kids, we must focus on them....teach them to keep their eyes open, question everything, don't accept the status quo.....they are enthusiastic when given simple plans to better the world....let them remind you to take your cloth bag to the grocery store, let them
inspire ........us.....................peace !
