watchin Don't look Back again
for the umtenth time
and The Times They Are A-Changin
and they sure are,and maybe
changing faster now then then
when a protest singer mirrored
the world through the poetry
and a hard rain was gonna fall
I listened to Bob Dylan when I was 16
was it that voice that swept the words
through my lonely existence
that his lyrics seemed to heap on me
what did I think that the language
that he used
would mean to me
other then the quicksilver shadows
that play on the music that seems to like
appear like smoke in a movie projector beam
"every word has its little letters and big letters"
" do you care about what you are saying?"
"how can you ask me a thing like that?"
such as we are, it's not really the prophecy you use
tone to the lilting crumbling voice of cigarette smoke
and sun glasses, the charm and flash of his revelation
the words are cheap and he bought them whole sell
they flowed like a New York minute full shutter
from his quick
typewriting fingers they glowed as they went down
his mind primed and they chimed to every connection
that nickle and dime, rhyme to his unwavering attention,
if you asked him then and you asked him now,the times
are A-changin he blows on harmonica like hurricane wind

yeah, always looking for that chance hit
that some couple of phrases or lines will
come across some unusual sounds and
meanings...meaning that the meaning
appears somewhere else, and the sound
just remains like when you first heard
some song and it really lingers,
a poem does not have the music
so you can only attempt to throw
some images around, perhaps
that's why i try to write
about Dylan, and the effect
that his images and music
held for me when i first heard him.
i know the times changed
and they were changin
