my old friend died and things got different
maybe i was sleeping when these things happened
i am still not sure, but i dont think so
his ashes we took to the tunnel on the napali
color was never so rich as it was that day
looking into his daughters eyes sent me back to a time
when he was alive, and funny, and there was so much love
he could do just about anything it seemed to me
i was young and delusional
clearly when my eyes held love in them
i could not see, the beer cans or nicotine stains
i can smell his salty skin now
his laughter- i live in a house with one of the kids i helped raise
all the kids came to our house
skateboard ramps, surfboards,treehouses and scooters
hurricanes, centipedes, tidal waves
rollar blade hockey, soccer,
i brought my sons here in 89
safest place on the planet
had to come home
now my sons are taking care of me-
which is an act of love and mercy
the house of generational love

generational house
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

blessings all the way around for love & mercy...creativesoul wrote:now my sons are taking care of me-

and no lack of blessings even when it's born out of respect and duty...
and blessings all the more for those who fall
in the generation gap of loving homes
