Philip loved the horses

Post by joel » September 28th, 2010, 2:23 pm

Philip loved the horses—
loved to hear their hoof-beats,
loved their sweat-wet muscles,
loved their heartbeat nostrils,
loved their fragile tendons—

Philip loved his neighbors,
life within his friendships,
life among the nations,
juice within the vineyard,
Jew among the Gentiles—

so when Philip wandered
far from friends where love was:
mazel tov—the horses—
Gott sei Dank—the horses—
chariots of mercy.

we can only hope that when we need them, the horses are rested, fed, and hitched to the wagon......
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
