It's Dark Outside but I Know It's Spring

Post by Sue Littleton » October 11th, 2010, 10:54 pm

Nearly midnight.
Stripéd cat with tiny, elegant paws
curls on my lap,
caresses my wrist with soft love kisses.
Pale green silken walls
hung with paintings
surround me,
unseen spring glows beyond the balcony.
Solitude enfolds,
delights
me.

My most recent effort after whacking everyone with Pomes from My Past ... still have the Yellowstone Memoirs.

Here spring is just the reverse. September, October November. Sue♥♥♥

In the world of no-money-required, I would do several things:

I'd spend a handful of years jet-setting from north pole to south pole in the summer to enjoy warm(ish) days in constant daylight, with a big F-you to seasonal affective disorder.

I'd also just take a trip for another handful years to somewhere hemispherically southern, just to see what it's like to have a birthday in the late spring, with flower options more than mums.

But I live in the world that asks for money and doesn't require handfuls of years.
