HAIKU NO. 94 - Jacarandá

Post by Sue Littleton » November 11th, 2010, 8:46 pm

94.

bare branches mock sky
jacaranda dons lilac
trees green with envy

Sus ramas desnudas se burlan al cielo
El jacarandá viste de lila,
y los otros árboles se ponen verdes de envidia.

A lesson in botany. Having never seen that flower, I had to bring up a picture of jacaranda. Now, with a vague idea, you create the frustrated desire to see the real tree in flower. jim

What more can I ask? Gather your family and visit Buenos Aires just about now -- will be waiting to show you around. Sue♥♥♥

Thanks, Jim, and mil gracias, Arcadia! I look past the sky blue hydrangias (hortensias here) on my balcony to the lilac mist of the two jacaranda trees in the garden below and rejoice! Sue♥
