Re: Doreen!
mwahahahaha! ... i made myself look like an anime cartoon or some kinda creepy monster.. LOL geesh
very strange self portrait ... click the image for a larger view... if you DARE!
Nice to see you here, neologistic! You've been missed.
thank you!
btw, my hair is blending into the mountains on the right and that's the rainbow road that goes over the hills....
All together now... let's sing... "Somewhere over the rainbow"...
(I never was a big judy garland fan or her daughter lisa minelli either but I really liked lisa in Cabaret! GREAT movie!... she was fabulous. And that other one... the cuckoo movie.. can't remember the name of it. Really old film from the 70s. Come to think of it, I guess I was a Lisa Minelli fan after all but her mom was the one that sang the rainbow song. Well... who cares anyway? Right? I don't.

Tea at Rachel Varnhagen's
Currant bread and current affairs
Strong Assam and rooms hazy with words
Beauty and brain not a contradiction in terms
Salons where male and female minds
Shamelessly mated on plush ottomans
Where sensuous mouths dared breathing hard truths
Where strong wills fearlessly bowed to the
Ingenious stroke of a feathery well-kept hand

I think I have saved every picture of her that has ever been posted but because of a hard drive crash all I got is this avatar, One of my favorites of favorites.

Re: Doreen!
I think of Doreen
in an array of vibrant colors,
she's a rainbow.

in an array of vibrant colors,
she's a rainbow.

`Do you know, I was so angry, Kitty,' Alice went on...`when I saw all the mischief you had been doing, I was very nearly opening the window, and putting you out into the snow! And you'd have deserved it, you

Re: Doreen!
thank you all...
i'm a lost vagabond on an uncharted sea,
freedom quelled by by a well of uncertainty.
I've been humored and enamored by vague
inconsistencies, forever engaging in connection.
Every one of you has held a role in my upcoming
resurrection.
I'm planning a circus celebration, see?
I plan to be the jester juggling poetry!
I'll paint myself with watercolored reverie, pretend
I'm a canvas for all to agree, some abstract being
who all can see is out of reach
with artists and poets whose hearts i'd love to touch
but in as much as I'd love to be loved,
above it all, I'm unfurled with grief,
because none of you are sitting next to me.
And if you were, it would be a relief.
I send you my love from another space....
I'm gratefully honored you frequent this place
and as another year comes to an end,
I'll continue to thank you again and again
for your artistry, wisdom, and open pen.
I love you all, your hearts, your minds,
and I graciously accept the images I find
in all you say and feel and do.
I'm resurrected because of you!
I miss you though there are very few
of you who I've ever met face-to-face.
But again, I will thank you for coming home
to be part of this artistic place.
...........
(and many thanks to neologistic
for all your help on the site,
your love & friendship and posting my photo here...
and with that I must say goodnight)
.........
ALL of your posts mean the world to me... thnx
(boy do I get mushy this time of year... but let's be clear, ok?
I get sentimental no matter what time of night or what season or day)

Re: Doreen!
Kurt .... do you have a spy camera installed in my bedroom? LOL
What a great drawing! I love it! You made me shapely and stunning! Even her large nose matches mine! And you gave me a breast implant! I am grateful, dear artist!
Thank you!
James.... OMG! She looks just like me, too! My hair's a little longer ... several inches past my shoulders, but hey, now I know what I'd look like with a haircut! Dig it, babe! LOL... thank you! You got my nose right, too! woohoo!
*bowing to you both*
Artists of imaginary wonder
bring thunder and excitement
to my world! I am honored
that you both made me look
like a lovely girl.

Marvelous self-portrait you made, D.P.
My homage-- of sorts . . .
My homage-- of sorts . . .
"M. Degas, when drawing, you often seem lose your way.
In fact, at times you barely seem to know where you are or where you are going."
(Degas):
"Nothing, madame, could describe my process of drawing better."
