A healing Hole in the Heart- Part II

Post by .Lucy. » December 14th, 2010, 12:15 am

Lie, after lie.

The truth collapsing around me.

You
Lied.

And you recognize,
without remorse, without excuse
beyond some empty words,
that you've been cruel
and hurtful towards me.

I can't even ask:
How could you do this to me?

There are no answers
to this heartbreaking question.
No reasons.

I will not be angry,
I will not be disillusioned,
I will not let this break me.

I've been healing,
I've grown,
I'm stronger.

I didn't deserve any of this,
but life
isn't fair.

This hurts,
but Nothing will bring me
down.

A great emotional write. I love it. I am just sorry you felt the pain that engendered it.

No, don’t be disillusioned: life is good.
And don’t succumb to brokenness— be whole.
But as for anger? Yes, be angered! Yes,
be angry! Yes, be outraged! Yes— be all
these things and more: be human. Be alive
with life that’s good, that doesn’t honor lies
with echoes of untruth, that cradles peace.
Your anger isn’t sin itself—release
those fears if they have held you back. Be wise
within your anger. Speak truth. Deprive
the world from thoughts that it could make you fall
beneath its power systems’ heel; and bless
the bended reeds defying winds’ control
and build your house within their neighborhood.
