Foreplay

Post by saw » December 27th, 2010, 11:21 am

One afternoon I was hungry
I threw faith and science in a bowl
and we tossed them with the fork in the road

and you said, I have proof of miracles

and I said, isn't a miracle by definition
outside the existing laws required
to prove such a thing

and you changed the subject, you asked me
had I ever heard the rock band
formed by Woody Allen
called The Concluding Unscientific Post Script

and I asked, that's a band ?
I thought it was Kierkegaard

and you replied, it's both !....don't you see ?
they are symmetrical, one is thought
one is an object, and the thought conforms
with being, and the being conforms with thought,
existence is a process of becoming.....
never given..........................never finished

and I said, but doesn't the notion of identity
then become a chimera of abstraction
if both thought and being are constantly changing,

and you said, who cares

and I said, you wanna have sex ?
the death of empathy is the birth of barbarism

This intriguer took a bit of FOREthought. Not making light of your acceptance of reality, but you remind me of a quip by one of my brothers-in-law: Does 30 minutes of begging count as foreplay? Enjoyed it. jim
