DIXIE'S MOTHER AND MEN (STRONG LANGUAGE)

Post by dadio » December 27th, 2010, 5:43 am

Dixie didn’t know why her mother took
Up with such men. Big men like Fordmush stubbed
Cigarettes out on her skin and Mother

Just tried to justify it all or turned
A blind eye and swallowed another gin
Or shoved more shit in her veins to mess up

Her brains. Men like Fordmush took off his belt
To beat and subdue her, and Mother said
She didn’t know it happened or how or

When, never blaming herself or the men.
And that time after the boozy party
Downstairs when his weird friends came over and

After they’d gone he came to her room and
Sat on her bed and fingered and poked and
Kissed her and joked about things she didn’t

Find funny, calling her Babe, Tootsy and
Honey, then went off and beat and fucked up
Her mummy. She didn’t know why Mother

Encouraged men like that, why she drank and
Shot shit and let them be abused and fucked
Stupid and used, but she always recalled

The sight, smell, sound and feel of the men and
The kisses that burned, the touches that bruised.

a disturbing painting to say the least, and you have synced a reasonable history to it......the codependency of abuser and abused.........not a light subject, but a familiar condition known to us all on some level.......a vicious pattern that is hard to derail......
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
