Cafe

Post by Artguy » December 30th, 2010, 12:57 pm

Took a walk on this almost grey mild winter day...the new year coming soon...naked trees line the street...down to corso italia...just left my world to the tri colore...annual pousse cafe, (double espresso chased with cognac)..all the old italian former construction workers talking on in a language I don't understand ...but it doesn't matter I understand this world...La Dolce Vida...I see their gentle eyes gazing on life behind through squinted eyes...pictures of Sophia Loren grace the walls...they don't make em like that no more...and I remember as a child seeing Sophia surfacing...gold spike in her thigh and I will never be the same...soccer game on one TV hockey on the other,,,remembering for them where they came from and knowing where they are now.... my gloves on and back out to the corso, (wide boulevard)...Toronto's piazza...Ciao

Toronto, a great place!... :) We stopped there, in 1965, on the way to Lake Temagami & New Liskeard in Northern Ontario. I was up in Canada on a canoe trip with the YMCA...Lived in Pennsylvania at the time...Many long years ago...

Nice vignette. You're right. They don't make 'em like that anymore.
