i walked dieppe and shook my fist
ridiculous place to test a theory
seemed like the officers didn't have clue
the fires they were sending them

i stood for an hour after walking the dieppe cemetary
everz fifth stone read 'Unknown Soldier'
the stones are marked with serial numbers
that indicate the canadian towns from which they came
only imagining what went on in that farmhouse
when no less than four souls
from the same town
with the same name
died together
passed somewhere
