New Year's Resolution(s)

Post by Steve Plonk »

Folks, I don't want to offend anyone with my intensity(ies). Sometimes my chain is pulled and I react. I try to be civil with everyone who posts.
I have wanted to explain myself in the present and in retrospective. I am trying
to keep an open mind when posting among such a diverse group. So, if my politicking or my spouting off have aggravated anyone, I am sorry. Being a better reader, listener, etc. is one of my new year's resolutions.

Anyone else have any New Year's Resolutions?

(Also see this thread in my standing column, "Life in the Horse Lane".)

I used to hear this song a lot when I lived in Music City. Always cheered me up

There's a dark and a troubled side of life
G D
But there's a bright and a sunny side too
D G
Though you meet with the darkness and strife
D G
The sunny side you also may view

G C G
Keep on the sunny side, always on the sunny side
G D
Keep on the sunny side of life
G C G
It will help us every day, it will brighten all the way
G C G D G
If we'll keep on the sunny side of life

Though the storm and its furies rage today
Crushing hope that we cherish so dear
The cloud and storm will in time pass away
And the sun again will shine bright and clear

chorus

Let us greet with a song of hope each day
Though the moment be cloudy or fair
And let us trust in our Saviour always
He'll keep us everyone in His care

Okay I will check it out. Off the topic but another song I remember from Nashville is Dixie. By gosh if you are in some blue grass honkytonk when the band plays Dixie, you had better stand.

I've never been in a lounge, etc. when "Dixie" is played.
Rule of thumb, noted... I'd probably take that time out
to quietly stand up and go to the rest room.

Happy Lunar New Year, February 3, 2011, or Chinese New Year, the year of the
Rabbit, so I've been told. May your lunar new year also be rich
& rewarding... 8)

Only place I have ever seen people stand when the band played Dixie is The Blue Grass Inn Nashville TN.
