Let Us See

Post by justwalt » January 23rd, 2011, 10:27 pm

Let Us See

Looking back on all the years gone by,
I can see you there from the beginning-
you were the first ever to hear me cry,
and the first to quiet me with singing-

You were the very first to love me too,
and still, you love me even more today-
I am truely blessed to have you, as you,
giving me more than I could ever repay-

I see times that we would have changed,
though now I can't really see the need-
having the good and bad isn't so strange,
for who has a garden without any weeds?

We've both seen it all through the years,
sometimes together, and sometimes apart-
but love has conquered all our old fears,
now we will never be separated in heart-

As time goes by, I can see so much more,
I feel your feelings, I know how you care-
I know your thoughts like never before,
and I see there is more for us to share-

We will always continue in our growing,
as friends, as family, as mother and son-
and since love is a fountain overflowing,
only the very best is left, yet to come-

Rhyming poetry can tend to make light of the theme at times but you have made it balance the need of rhyme with the need of depth of the theme. 8)

Thanks a lot.... wrote that one 20 years ago for mom...
lost it some time ago and just found a copy in her apartment. Can't say
much, but every word of it is... only the truth.

She's going for a brain tumor removal in a couple of week...
the running around about it all is crazy.

I'm sorry to hear about your Mom's brain tumor surgery. I send my wishes for a full and speedy recovery! Hard times. Hang in there. Sending prayers and healing energy to her and your family.

A lovely tribute.

it can be so surprising to read things 20 years old, much like a trip inside a time machine, backwards to another part of yourself that sometimes you have forgotten about.....thanx for sharing this poem, and thanx for the haunting video to accompany it.....a nice match

here's some positive thoughts to you and your mom......peace........
If you do not change your direction

Beautiful honor, beautiful love, beautiful rhyme--and prayers for peace and wholeness for your mother, for you, and those who love you both.

Thankx so much guys and girls, mom will be alright no matter the outcome.
We're ready for anything that comes... honest.

The video link to the song... though the words might not fit the exact
intention, the feeling in the music does.

Thankx again.
