Semiconscious Choice

Post by justwalt » February 5th, 2011, 11:29 pm

Waking before the morning,
the air is cool and calm-
I can hear the voices calling,
with no faces to put then on-

In a dream I saw the ending,
you were there just as before-
time seemed to be unbending,
as the board still showed no score-

Of course, there was no warning,
how could one expect to know?
but the actor was not performing,
for the sake of any show-

Now the stillness is so charming,
fitting the scenery well-
logic is also disarming,
letting amity swell-

As will the sun come rising,
soon too, good spirits ascend-
today the voices aren't surprising,
having lost the need to pretend-

the journeys of life, like the cycles of the days, our perceptions "unbending"
to show sides that were previously concealed..............enjoyed it...
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

a poem to a friend... Donna. written from
prison in '90 and touched up a bit yesterday.

it was a very weird combination of things, (at the time),
that inspired this one. I don't think I could've explained
it even then... it just came and went in a few moments.

thanks

nice
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

Walt... you do end-rhyme so well.... some people make it sound so sing-songy, but not you. I enjoyed this piece.

I owe you a return message.

Apologies for the delay.
Real life got in the way.
Don't know what else to say.
Can't write back today.

(But will soon.)

thanks girls... and... I thought this rhyme structure was "traditional", and
being that like the stripped-down basic model car... no power windows, no
anti-lock brakes and no full sized spare tire... thanks
