into the empty range
silent, shattering intensity
but a glowing screen gave chase
bare bluffs backlit by a lurching feed
never imagined it so, no! not out there
where icy crisp sun meets pristine peaks
where you might catch trout with a shovel
in snow melt, if you knew where to look
the rock flies solo
with only a quicksilver moon
like range poetry, a gambler up against touch
the road always ends in talus beneath a peak
poetry sniffs at a soft ferocity of mountain rain
animals and ex-prospectors know the place
the place is shrinking, even space gathers junk
satellites are a vague trouble, they take pictures
of gone deserts onscreen, places not to be seen
you can zoom to each mountain and corrugation
but they were more powerful when uncountable
more than bent bumps on a flat techno jigsaw
contour onscreen, another suspect machine
some day you'll see yourself, clicking along,
scrolling on some trail, staring upward
virtually, right at the big space eye
techno-flyover pome
techno-flyover pome

Re: techno-flyover pome
how much techno is enough
do we really need to spy in real time
to know our world, is it better
to skip the exercise, check it all out
wolfing down the sweet Rocky Road
when we could do the real thing
pretend we are an explorer
hit the trails with trail mix instead
why use techno mumbo jumbo
would we ask someone how
the book ends before we read it ?
sorry for the streaming reply, just happens sometimes......enjoyed it !

If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
you may end up where you are heading
Re: techno-flyover pome
exactly, steve... well said.
to this point, real-time spying is limited to spy mafia as far as i know. but we've gotten awfully damn close to it in the "public sector"... kinda freaks me out. google freaks me out man!...
