The D E P Ress I O N becomes final today

Post by bennie » February 20th, 2005, 4:07 pm

a day ripped from the ground
all the roses are a size too small
this upset the people

the morning tells its lies
glass clouds cut at the light
the sparrow frowns

the string section prowls
all the hills are caved in
the epileptic stood century

a lonely man gets torn to pieces
he pulls the moon from the sky
and replaces the sea with wires

good imaging here, Bennie. I especially liked the last bit of surrealism -

"a lonely man gets torn to pieces
he pulls the moon from the sky
and replaces the sea with wires"

That particular "line" grabbed me and thru me thru the plateglass reflection of Honore Balzac and split my Magoo into prismatic slipknots.

Thx. (while listening to "shadow of the sun" - audioslave.)

he pulls the moon from the sky
man and woman are sitting in mauzy moonlight
shadows fall across their faces

a joint circulates in silence
every six seconds he thinks of mamogram masses
a large dog rests his head in her lap

just a jam everything just a goddam jam bennie
a function of a tingling in the little finger of my left hand

good work thanks for the inspiration

Ah, Benny, I do like your writing.

A stab in the heart is this, a stab in the heart.

I haven't listened to the audioslave album in a while, mtmynd. I love some of the riffs in that record. Cochise is similar to Voodoo Child (slight return).

Glad you got inspiration from it, 'trucking. A large "black dog" by any chance?

Ahh mousey mousey...one of these days you'll call me bennIE. ;)

thanks for reading me.

Bennie wrote the poem

Benny formatted it.

Haha, I've been getting called Benny all my life, don't worry about it. (as if you'd lose any sleep over it anyway). Well, when I say "called" I mean when it's been written down.

To say Benny is to say Bennie so there's no big deal.

I just thought I'd annoy you by drawing it to your attention.
