the package

Post by ButterflyKiss » February 23rd, 2011, 11:24 am

This is me, this is me.

But it's me,
sitting inside a box
waiting to be let out!

What does it look like to you?
Is it a gift?
A beautiful package?

A beautiful package waiting to be opened?

Is it all you dreamed of?
What you expected?

The anticipation builds...the expectations give you butterflies.

I will just tell you that sitting inside this box is lonely.
Not sure I know how long I can sit in here waiting.
I too am anticipating.

How long before I self destruct?
Find a way out
or find this gift in someone else's hands.

So this is really tinted with my relationship to the grand New England package stores (i.e. liquor stores). I see the bottles sitting in packages, waiting to toast new life or drown deep sorrows...and I'm impressed with their humanity. Maybe not the image you had in mind (but maybe it is), but a good read for me either way. Thanks and welcome!

Interwoven poem with a deep theme running through. Fine work.
