[Night Writer]

I said I'm done writing
Well, that lasted all but 30 minutes
Here is what happened
I associated writing wrongly
Put down my pen
Closed the laptop
Poured my favorite drink
Sat on my stoop
With cigarette and drink in hand
I began to breathe in sounds
Children playing, dogs barking,
Cars driving by
Zeroed in on one guy
Moving his trash can
The plastic wheels grinding
As he pulls it ascross the asphalt
I hopped up and ran inside
Grabbed a pen and notebook
As the words began
To flow magically across my paper
Ink lighting my way like fire
Such a desire
More, more, more
Now I cannot stop
