Resurrection of a Wind Chime Echo
I can't remember if I posted this here before. I found it on my FB page Notes section. I stated there that I wrote it spontaneously and didn't have a title for it. Still it's not titled. Maybe I should give it a title. - D

We went several days past the time originally
designated, passed over sign posts, elated by
the journey itself, angels soaring over doors
marked with blood, several wooden planks nailed
to a martyr's hands and feet, damn the incomplete
memory again struck with the jar of a storm, and
as far as I can tell, hell has again been dismissed
permanently because it never did exist. We celebrate
the formation of a cloud. I hear the sound of human
breath harmonizing.
Kiss me goodnight! I've buried multi-colored promises
then resurrected them at sunrise, sun burning the
fog off an April morn, the afternoon filtering truth rays through
to film projected onto a new day! And yes there was the way
time went by, so fast at first, then so slow we had to run
backward to catch up to it, sunset settling behind the backdrop
of dusk, me with my orthodox memories, candles in
hand, you with your various hues of drama and
peace peaking through evening blinds.
Traditions bear well and continue. Swell my heart into an avenue
soon to walk, and we will talk until night falls, silent the stars, sweet
the smell of hyacinth, calming, the breeze. An oak tree bends its
knees and prays, another day done and the way you hold me
under Orion's watch, the way the clock ticks too slow, too fast,
the way mystery settles into perfectly timed lyrics....
ahhhh... it is Easter and I am reborn! I have made my way from
the grave! Embrace me and cheer a resurrected year!
I touch your cheek with my palm,
speak repeat sweet choruses.
Soft and dear the wind chimes echo.

Re: Title?
Doreen, Love this poem. Why not call it "Resurrection Chimes"?

Re: Title?
Too much to compliment, but especially these lines, Doreen...beautiful. The whole thing, beautiful, gifted, inspired, gifting, inspiring....Doreen Peri wrote: Kiss me goodnight! I've buried multi-colored promises

Titles are overrated maybe. Its entirity is such an awesome title!

Re: Title?
Thank you all very much! ... I'm thinking of using part of the last line as the title. "Wind Chimes Echo". What do you think?
Although I do like the idea of using "Resurrected" in the title.
Maybe "Resurrection of a Wind Chime Dream".... oh jeezz.. i don't know. I usually don't have this much trouble coming up with a title.
Maybe titles are meaningless but if I don't give my poems titles, I can't find them! Haha! Plus I do think titles pull the reader in to even read it to begin with.
You're all very kind and I'm honored by your comments.

reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

Re: Resurrection of a Wind Chime Echo
Thanks, Jana.... I edited it to add a title. I decided to name it "Resurrection of a Wind Chime Echo" .... for now anyway. LOL.... I couldn't think of a title. This title might work for a while. I don't know what I was connected with when I wrote it but whatever it was, it seemed quite serious. heh... Funny, that.
