the boogie man, dead or dead

Post by revolutionrabbit » May 9th, 2011, 5:18 am

the boogie man
not the boogie man
the boogie-woogie man
not the boogie-woogie man
the most wicked man
not the not wicked man
the most wanted man
the most unwanted man
what is the propaganda level
what is the hysteria level
here they come, jingo jingo
emergency broadcast
emergency broadcast
cast out your critical mind
cast out your critical mind

how dumb down is dumb down
how low do you go, how low
how much lies, more lies,lies
where is the proof, where is the
confession, where is the proof
they said, he said, they said
when do the brave men really
become brave? they go kill
they never question.

so they got the
man that did the crime?
who did the crime?
how soon we forget
how soon we believe
what they say in the media
nothing to see here, people
move along, terror terror
more smoking guns right
out in the open, move along
believe, believe, believe,
more war, more war, more war

they had him, and they let him go
they used him before, they met him
before, operative, operative, was he
already dead? or is he just dead now?
when things in this country are at
an all time low, oh, forget wall street
oh forget the low ratings, more political
capital, forget japan, forget forget,
time to get out flags again,
what promise were broken
oh the brave men
that kill kill kill
war of terror
war on terror
war on us
on drugs
on food
on peace
on truth
on us
on us
cheer
cheer
cheer
fear fear fear

governments have a long history investing heavily in keeping their citizens afraid,
it's always been good for business, as evidenced by the staggering number of private contractors currently on the payroll........fear is good business.....

"Since fear and love can hardly exist together, if we must choose between them,
it is far safer to be feared than loved"

Niccolo Machiavelli.....The Prince, 1513
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

yes, continued imperial war-making and recycled rhetoric in our future.

and obama has stepped up the more unilateral, covert-type stuff... various terrorist whack-a-mole operation(s), from drones to special ops raids. (sorry about them collateral damages, folks..) if there really is a pervasive, shadowy terror problem out there, i suppose one could argue that "this is the only way to deal with it," but...

at least he doesn't simply claim "executive privilege" and leave it at that, like emperor george did. no, he's more politically sophisticated than that. he justifies these secret ops as part of the post-9/11 statement of national self-defense-- taking steps against those connected with the attacks. trouble is, many of his targets lately had nothing to do with 9/11...

i really did not want to write this
i try to speak about current events
without being too obvious
so that it still works on different levels
but on some level all poetry is revolutionary
or most or a lot or some wee bit that gives
it all some higher purpose, regardless
Ferlinghetti said that poetry can change the world
i always felt that way, poetry is about telling it
like it is...from the bottom of your experience
i always wanted to cut through all the hype
that is why i began writing in the first place
i saw the movie Howl recently, about Ginsberg
it captures the times a changing, and the poetry
that changes it, and with it.thank you
