Just swapped out reading material for the throne
took "Blue Highways" by what's-his-name upstairs
put it on the bookshelf
grabbed "Tales of Ordinary Madness" by what's-his-name
brought it downstairs & put it on the back of the crapper
there, all set.
I look at the book laying there like that
unopened on the white porcelain
and I feel like Lipo, Hanshan, Ikkyu, and Captain Jack Sparrow
all rolled into one and sitting on a riverbank
with our one set of eyes lookin' downstream.

A passing thought of Penelope Cruz crosses my mind
I think it's Ikkyu who brought her up
with Lipo pulling a close second

meanwhile, down on the waterfront,
Hanshan is making preparations
to seize the ship
