.
This is not only about me.
It's about you, too, as soon you will see.
This is my confession.
I've been repressed to the point of regression,
invested my blessed time like the rest.
I've suppressed my desires,
undressed myself completely,
folding my clothing neatly,
caressed my investments
as if under complete duress.
I am a literal mess.
This is the ultimate test.
Pardon me for getting this off my chest.
The purpose, however, is to enlighten
as well as heighten your awareness.
Believe me, it is not hopeless
though I am often stressed to the max,
taxed to the nth degree, I am determined to see
my way through just as you can, too!
I have transgressed,
and if you could see me,
though you wouldn't want to be me,
you'd be most certain of
my zest for convalescence.
Once I ingested the food of transgression,
I became breathless, not yet formless and void,
the perfect place to begin.
And much to my chagrin,
the general consensus
if you haven't yet guessed,
is that I'm not quite finished
with becoming, as of yet.
Let us not forget this, please.
It's of the utmost importance,
I'm sure you will agree,
though this is really not about me.
It's about us all. I am sure you can see that.
This is nothing to be laughed at.
I will ascend to do pirrouhettes, strip my
soul as if doing a burlesque act at an art fest,
the audience rising from their seats
to complete me with applause!
And you should, too, considering
the importance of the cause!
But first, let us pause to remember the
multiple bad debts, the self-inflicted bullets
to the chest, the perilous wheels we've spun,
the way all this had begun and why it continues.
Let us examine the highest, brightest joys
as well as the darkest, most dismal blues.
Each moment does matter.
It is up to you to shatter your potential.
The choices you make now are not
inconsequential.
Please do not take even one minute for granted.
This is a mantra we all have chanted.
As cliché as this may sound, keep your feet
on solid ground but believe you can fly because you can.
Spread the wings of your mind and you will find
the premise of my prayer for you.
You can soar and what's more,
your apex is waiting there for you!
Take my advice or don't.
Arise and fly
since some day you won't
be able. This is advice to save.
It is a call to action.
From cradle to grave,
you choose your reaction.
What's next? Choose the nexus.
Connect to your future
by harnessing the now.
Nobody but you can
show you how!
Awaken. Fly.
Cry tears of elation!
Become the creation.

Re: Awaken!
Thanks, Dino. I started with a list of words. I don't usually write that way.
I think there are too many rhymes, not enough imagery, a cliche message (life is short, you can achieve your dreams... reach for the stars... do it NOW)... sigh
I hate it.
LOL
I don't know why I posted it. Just to pretend I"m still a poet I guess.

Re: Awaken!
Its a bit like circular breathing with rhyme. Please don't say it's stupid because then I feel stupid for liking it...
We should not mind if on our ear there fell. Some less of cunning, more of oracle...Thoreau
