VIMINTER'S HOPE.

Post by dadio » June 16th, 2011, 3:38 pm

Viminter sits and wonders what his
Last days would be like. The wallpaper
Is dull; the same old painting prints
Hang that his father put there years
Back. His father croaked a year ago,
Left no will, no note, just bills and debts.
Viminter looks out the window, sees
New York as it is, the sky, the clouds.
His mother went off with his father’s
Best friend, what a way for a friendship
To end. He lights a smoke, inhales, sees
A girl in the apartment across the way.
She undresses, slow, with deliberation.
Unaware that he stares, in her own world,
No doubt. Viminter paints her in his mind,
Each aspect, each motion, each small part
And piece. She’s gone from sight, moved
To another room. He sits still and waits.
Wonders no more of old age or time or
Death or maybe nothingness, just dreams
Of that young girl and a someday caress.
