Summer days in the desert South,
my skin was burned, kissed and browned,
and I meshed with colors of adobe houses,
just as the sunset hits.
I would sit quiet as a mouse,
watch the orange rays turn pink,
bask in the end of warmth
before the very last bit of light escaped.
Before I leave the darkness birthed,
a single star appears over-head,
bringing color again to the Earth,
reviving the sands of hope.
Reviving the Sands of Hope
Re: Reviving the Sands of Hope
sand is one of those elements that seem to illicit an emotion.....maybe because of the way the sea tosses them about, or how your foundation can either quickly erode or as the moon moves the tides there is now a sandbar to walk across to the next island........I like the way you include yourself in the colors of the southwest, how you were blended into the mix and how you created so much in my imagination about the possibilities of a single day.....a nice meditative peace, or piece, ha.....I like it!
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
you may end up where you are heading

when the stars are out over the desert, i like the sharp black and white of it..
and pink seems to turn to orange, as it all turns..
