Out politicos are working too, my friend ran for a local office here, he is a very honest man. His campaign slogan was, "I am only in it for the money." There must be at least 50 honest people in his county because that's how many votes he got.

I wish we were Argentina, I would be more hopeful.

hey, zero_hero!... some people can trust in their políticos and some not (for different reasons, I guess). I think that´s ok!. But that not enables you to trust and/or be hopeful in people, yourself, life or whatever name you can give to it, and that´s great! ( at some point I think it helps to have a sort of insight about it...! ) best wishes!! :)

I just returned from seeing "El gato con botas" in the cinema (so lovely feline animation! :D ) and I don´t have too much neuronas working at the moment. Tomorrow I´ll write about two radios on line I´ve been listening while doing homework this week and a site about a "Tribunal popular" from the cordón industrial of the city who investigates and works against ambiental contamination, it´s a very interesting propuesta that I didn´t knew it existed!.

today while returning from work in a car-of-a-friend-103-negra-bus saga to shorten distances I saw and old man reading "La Nación" newspaper in front of me, and I saw a photo (the classic archeologists, antrophologist photo discovering human rests). I thought it was about a new discovery about the incas or the egyptians but no... I couldn´t avoid thinking in that photo until now... and it´s sad and disgusting... :(
(I didn´t found the La Nación link at first sight but I found this... and this...)

http://www.pagina12.com.ar/diario/elpai ... 12-15.html

also found Moyano (líder of the camioneros sindicato and the CGT) declarations... well, Mr Moyano, your workers have been earning during the Kircnher´s govermnents a lot more than I earned as a teacher and you were a dear friend of the government and you didn´t fight for my salary so... (plus today I´m not exactly in the mood to discuss if your kind of job deserves more tham mine...) , just good luck!

(now I have a date with my uruguayan hairdresser: I´ll ask him only to cut also this time and not to paint yet, but next year or the other I´ll have to decide about the tintura-thing if I don´t want to have "the snows of the time" (las nieves del tiempo) in my sienes at full color... )

"Papel to everyone"......... I don´t know if the paper-newspapers are still needed but the fact that only one Corporation with obscure links to the dictadura owned the paper-industry plus a lot of newspapers around the country don´t sound equilibrado at all........ so this may sound as good news, I guess!!! :)

10 years from the crisis?caos? and posterior police repression of 19 y 20 of 2001.
I was too tired of too many things in 2001 that De la Rúa and his government at some point was only one more thing... not THE thing... . I didn´t participate in the streets demostrations and fights of those two days, I only watched tv and couldn´t avoid to remember the 1989 facts thinking "damn, again!?" (yeah, I know it doesn´t sound very revolutionay...  ) but I participate later in marchas and asambleas when I could understand more or less what happened. I guess it´s good to read about it (at least about the politic and economic crisis...) with some distance now. Some links:

I hope soon Justice (in human form) will arise also in the caso of Pocho Leprati, one of the persons shot by the police during those days in Rosario . It´s a good day to listen (again!) the León Gieco song in his honor:

just returned for the marcha & acto organized by the CTA (starting in Plaza San Martín and ending in the Flag Memorial). I personally organized to go with a friend and other one joined us casually at the Flag Memorial. It was very moving to listen to the familiares to the persons shot during those days, still waiting for justice for their relatives and for the ones still in need in our country. Interesting the considerations they shared about justice in the comunicado they read "a Justice constructed from the base, by all, and nurtured also by "small acts of justice" like the today concentration". I wish they were more people listening to them. It was very significative than none of the peronist or kirchnerists organizations joined this acto... (I´ll search later for the audio & text of Celeste Lepratti speech if I found it somewhere and post it). It was also very interesting and healing to talk also about ourselves now and ten years ago with these friends, tereré mediante (it´s incredible hot here, the scales of the Flag Memorial still irradiated sun energy at 9 pm...)

now an indymedia article about the 19 and 20 of 2001, I remember I asked myself "I know De la Rúa is an incompetente but... why now and not during Menem government????!!!" (I still don´t have a complete answer to that ...). See:

it´s somehow weird each year to be still walking the streets at 7:45 am in the border of the southeast side of the city at the end of december when nobody seems to be awake at that our except some dogs and the school is without students and poblated only by protesting sleepy teachers... This morning I felt an oficinist again typing for four hours, drinking mate and listening to music ... I guess I can do it again some days a year with no harm for anybody !!!!!!!  ´

(two weeks of farewells here, love them! specially if they are at open spaces and near the river!!!!)

after posting here last time it was announced that our president has tiroides´s cancer, I think it was ok to announce it in detail just in case somebody wanted to bury her before her time ...I hope she recover well soon, I don´t like the idea of Boudou as a president despite it will be only for January.... Odd, each time the president talk I have a strange feeling in my own throat, it´s a subtle hurting-like sensation... but I´m not a parámetro, it´s just my too sensitive-zone.... :?

Can the CIA produce illnesses in the people? well, I don´t know.... maybe we live under a big chemtrail , who knows! but I guess it´s not a happy idea to end the year with...! Come on, Chávez...! salud!!!!!!!!! :)

I don't know but I think it would be possible. There has been occassional coverage of the issue of cell phone towers and brain cancers I seem to remember. The story does not get much coverage in our corporate media, just fringe left leaning tv stations on cable.

It could be, it makes me proud to be from America, where Lady Bird is still the queen. I don't know what my government is capable of, what ever some beurocrat thinks we are powerful enough to get away with. I say my government, I don't know what the hell is going on here anymore, I probably never did understand, just thought I did. We are supposed to be a democracy but I wonder if we truly are anymore. I try to keep the faith with Thomas Jefferson but lordy it is so strange what we are willing to shed blood for.

I am a good German I think to myself :(
Well this ain't going the way I had hoped when I started, I was going to try and cheer you up :?

well, our president didn´t have cancer!! That´s great!!! :D It seems her caso was one of the "falso positivos" that can happen from time to time.

to walk in Rosario streets it´s very "El llano en llamas" today, so hot!! The last days were great for enjoying the river but today I woke up longing for a day of aire acondicionado oasis...!!!!!!

several days without reading newspapers but today (that feels good for aire acondicionado oasis again), I read them (at least the titles!). I found this article with an entrevista to García Linera (vicepresident of Bolivia) interesting: the photo that show him in an a peculiar mudra-explicative moment made me laugh and the directness of his marxist context analysis appeared brilliant, it was somehow tranquilizing reading him!
